Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can help improve a number of skin conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, blotchiness, acne, acne scarring, melasma and sun damage. SkinMedica Peels vary in the amount of exfoliation each typically produces, as well as the recovery time. Advanced Laser Clinic is proud to offer three levels of SkinMedica Peels: the Illuminize Peel, the Vitalize Peel, and the Rejuvenize Peel.

Your epidermal skin cells are constantly transitioning from the bottom of the epidermal layer to the skin surface as the cells lose moisture and slowly die off. Depending on your age and skin condition, this process takes approximately 28-38 days. This surface layer of dead cells can cause the skin to look tired, aged and dull. A chemical peel uses an acidic solution to remove the outer layer of skin and stimulate the production of new skin cells. The strength of acids determines the depth of exfoliation.

Illuminize Peel
The Illuminize Peel is SkinMedica's gentlest peel. This non-invasive, very superficial chemical peel utilizes a novel approach to chemical peeling with a newer generation of alpha-hydroxy acids (mandelic acid and malic acid) in combination with phytic acid and commonly used peeling agents (salicylic acid and resorcinol) to maximize skin rejuvenating effects with low irritation. It will provide the brightening, tightening and glow that you desire if you have an upcoming event or just want to reveal the look of more youthful skin.

Vitalize Peel
The Vitalize Peel is SkinMedica's most popular chemical peel. The Vitalize Peel helps fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. This powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin. It is suitable for all skin types, and produces predictable and noticeable results.

Rejuvenize Peel
The Rejuvenize Peel is the deepest of the SkinMedica Peels, penetrating into the epidermis to produce significant results with minimal irritation. Using an advanced formulation of peeling agents, with a built-in anti-irritant and penetration enhancer that provides controlled exfoliation of the uppermost damaged layers of the skin, the Rejuvenize Peel reveals fresher and healthier skin and provides predictable results with minimal downtime.

Illuminize Peel
Hours after just one Illuminize Peel you will notice more vibrant, radiant looking skin. Patients have reported improved skin smoothness, firmness, texture and overall condition after only two peels. The Illuminize Peel can be repeated every 2 weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 Illuminize Peels supported by the appropriate SkinMedica skin care regimen.

Vitalize Peel
Patients have had noticeable improvement after each treatment, with a significant improvement in condition of acne, scars, hyperpigmentation, and melasma after the completion of a series. The Vitalize Peel can be repeated every 3-4 weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 Vitalize Peels supported by the appropriate SkinMedica skin care regimen.

Rejuvenize Peel
The majority of patients reported improvement in the appearance of fine lines, mottled pigmentation, texture, melasma, acne, and acne scarring after 3 peels. The Rejuvenize Peel can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 Rejuvenize Peels supported by the appropriate SkinMedica skin care regimen.

Typically, the Illuminize Peel requires no downtime and causes no visible peeling.

The Vitalize Peel typically results in mild to moderate peeling approximately 2 days after the procedure. This peeling lasts about 2-3 days.

The Rejuvenize Peel typically results in moderate peeling that starts approximately 2 days after the procedure and lasts up to five days.
